Swatch is similar. So instead of calculating time based on lat/lon, time is the same around the world. Similar to epochs in Unix, but more human readable.

Re: No timezones / no daylight savings time

this sounds cool but it wont help in understanding references of time while describing events at that time...For eg. "There was a blast in swedish railyway station at @916" doesn't tell you if it happened in sweden in the morning or evening. but this is trivial. Overall im up for an overhaul of stating times.

Re: No timezones / no daylight savings time

I'll give you that DST is odd, but timezones? Totally necessary in a world of social, collaborative creatures. If people didn't agree on regions to share the same time, which is reasonably done with assistance from government, then every longitudinal location would have its own time. If I have friends 10, 100, and 1000 miles west, each would have a different time. If we wanted to meet, without 24 timezones, we would all have to convert our own locations' time to the time of the meeting place. If it's at my house, and if we're at the equator, then the adjustments for my friends are about half a minute, six minutes, and 60 minutes respectively. It's more complicated if I live away from the equator. And if one of the friends lives 100 miles to the northeast? Get our your calculus text books. Or maybe Swatch would have something like those old calculator watches that would help me out.

http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Me...

Re: Location history reporting

Nice! I'm eager to know how this goes. On a separate note, I was thinking it'd be cool if you can get the google calendar event locations and show a simulation of the events you went to

Re: Windows services crash after restoring from Standby mode

I never went back to WZCSVC. It has the same wireless card model. I did the exact things you did. I also tried using the Intel Wireless connection software, but my the Intel software will lose the connection and won't reconnect (this happens in a couple minutes upto a hour of use. So I am still having wireless issues. Did you ever find a solution that allowed you to go back and use WZCSVC?

Re: Effective Meetings 101

Couldn't agree more on
"Take notes and distribute them after the meeting to all attendees. I mean Outlook supports it and we all know Gmail is superior to Outlook. I'm sure they must have a reason for not including the functionality, unless they are working on it through Gmail labs.

Re: HTC Touch Pro with Sprint

Since I work with Kenan I have the same phone. While it's not an iPhone, it's pretty darn close. So far I made some tweaks to extend the wallpaper to all pages of the TouchFlo 3D interface and removed the annoying Sprint Music Store icon from the music player.
Fring for connecting to GTalk
and SlingBox Player for watching my DVR away from home (need to have a slingbox though).

Re: No car, no problem

Sweet.
